Magnestick Bar

HOW IT WORKS

Installation on the seat

On the seat, MAGNESTICK® BAR consists of a Catch (3) attached to the safety bar and generally connected to the step support, a Magnet Module (2) generally fixed under the seat and a Contact (1) generally fastened around the suspending rod. The Magnet Module and contact are linked by electrical cables (4).

When the bar is lowered (all the way down), the catch lodges within the magnet module. By a mechanical effect, the catch displaces a metal plate which is attracted to a magnet. Once the metal plate connects with the magnet, the catch is in the locked position in the magnet module. To release the catch it is necessary to separate the metal plate from the magnet by triggering this with a current. This current is captured at the docking station by the contact and transferred to the magnet module via the electric cables.

Installation in the arrival station

Brushes (1) are installed in the zone (3) in which the security bar is to be unlocked. These are powered by a current (2). When the seat passes into the brushes, the contact makes the contact with the brushes.
The brushes are generally positioned:
Either on both sides of the suspending rod
Or both on the same side of the suspending rod
In order to allow users sufficient time to dismount, the de-activation brushes are placed as follows:
On a chairlift with disengaging device, the brushes are generally installed at the entrance to the docking station.
On a fixed chairlift, the brushes are supported by a mobile self-supporting structure placed ahead of the dismounting position.
